COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
This page is your gateway to taking ownership and responsibility for our school's success. Use the links to get information about the various democratic structures of our school. Parents can volunteer for Governance Committees positions or attend PAC, CCEF and Governing Board meetings. Local business can get involved with our internship programs. You can also provide financial support through direct donations or through signing up for e-scripps at the links below.
PARENT ASSET COMMITTEE (PAC)
The Committees and Projects change from year to year - the committees for the 2005-06 school year are:
• Education/Enrichment. Coordinate guest speakers, teaching specialists, field trips, tutoring, travel or exchange programs
• Healthy Lunch. Coordinate two monthly healthy lunches (plan menus,
shop, cook, deliver food, serve, clean-up) and end-of-year Facilitator
Appreciation Lunch.
• Communications/Outreach. Update and distribute ACLC directory,
organize phone tree, listserv and website updates, community outreach,
parent liaison/grade, newsletter, photographer
• Social Events. Assist with picnics/potlucks and learner-led school
events; drivers or chaperones for learner functions
• Graduation. Organize the Grad night event – location, date, dinner, invites, dance, awards, etc.
• Facilities/School Beautification. Coordinate construction, planting, equipment/furniture at ACLC
• Fundraising. Organize raffles, events, bake sales, holiday sales,
eScrip/Albertsons giving programs, toner/cell phone recycling and box
tops to raise goal of $30K for 2005-06 year
• 10th Anniversary Committee. Coordinate celebration event(s) to include current ACLC community members and alumni.
All families are encouraged to have at least one parent work on a PAC
committee each year. To join a committee or offer your specific
services contact a PAC chair:
